Exploring the Patterns & Poetry of Nature through Photography and WritingOur skies are ever changing.
They provide an immediate visible read of our weather.
A powerful, artistic canvas, they also present us with images of our world; both physically from the movement of molecules in the air and spiritually from something ethereal and undefinable.
Something not quite explainable.
Not yet anyway.
Something quite wonderful.
If you watch clouds closely enough, it’s likely that you’ll begin to develop a sense for the Extraordinary. A heightened feeling or awareness.
A timing for when something wonderful might be about to happen!
When everything in the space around you suddenly becomes quiet and still.
When time begins to slow down and then…there you are…standing in that very moment itself.
An astonishing artwork unveiling itself before you!
If you’re a photographer, it’s in this moment that you’ll gently close the shutter of your camera and capture that breathtaking moment forever!
Jackie B Brockis: Cloud, Pareidolia & Nature Photographer
This is how it began for me. Watching for something to form and then it did. Beautiful moments in time when unseen forces came together to paint something wonderful!
What is astonishing is the detail, depth and range of imagery being painted across the canvas of our skies and the range of recognisable, identifiable human experience the images reflect. A vast collection of episodes – snapshots – taken from the cycle of human life and reflected back!
Looking through these images, there is the sense that something else may well be afoot. Something far greater than what we might realise. A form of visual messaging from the universe back to ourselves, reminding us always of our abiding connection with it… through the simple, quiet practice of noticing.

When I began to look more closely at the cloud images, connecting, identifiable groups appeared: Cities & Places; People & Faces; Animals & Plants; Landscapes & Drama; Science Fiction and Divinity. Categories with strong correlation to aspects of human life and experience that each image belonged to; that filtered out noise and echoed universal connection.

If photographic patterns displayed in Clouds are one indication of Universal Messaging, then another might be in the visual imagery found within flowers, plants, trees and natural structures that support and sustain life on Earth.
The Pareidolia section of my website brings together images that recognise human expression, experience and form in the following three Categories: The Natural World; The Physical World and Everything Else.
Click on each of the categories below to explore the photographs and let me know whether you too have a pareidolic eye. I’d love to hear from you!
