Pareidolia, is officially recognised as the mind's ability to find recognisable shapes or order in what initially might be perceived as chaos. 

Common Examples in Nature include recognising human faces in flowers or animal shapes in drifting summer clouds.

Historically, the concept has served as a catalyst across centuries, for artistic imagination and creative experimentation. Leonardo da Vinci famously championed the phenomenon in his notebooks, advising painters to stare at stained walls or varied stones to stimulate their minds and discover entire landscapes, battles, and figures within the random smudges. In the modern era, contemporary artists use it to challenge perception, as seen in surrealist works or modern street art where creators manipulate objects, architectural cracks, or natural textures into intentional, evocative portraits.
